Signal Creek

Nour, a 22 year-old college student, sneaks into the soon-to-be demolished Signal Creek Mall to take photos for her college project. She finds herself trapped with her little brother’s best friend, Nick, and her professional mentor, Ms. Suwan. In order to escape the dreamlike reality of the mall’s third floor, Nour must guide everyone—including herself— through a journey of reconciliation. 

Signal Creek is a narrative, pixel-art RPG being developed in the Godot Engine. On the team of eight that created the completed demo, I was the primary narrative designer:

  • I maintained the documentation that tracked the world, characters, and plot of the game.

  • I guided conversations around the creation of the characters and ironed out the details of the story.

  • I outlined and wrote the dialogue for a plethora of the in-game conversations.

  • I created the choice tree alongside our gameplay designer.

  • I helped keep the project in scope by encouraging conversations across creative disciplines.
